Did You
Know… the Atlantic Public Library had 754 downloads
for ebooks and 634 downloads for audiobooks from our WILBOR collection from
July 2011 through June 2012?
Behind My
Desk… I want
to make sure that parents for preschoolers (ages 3-5) are aware that in less
than two weeks we will be starting our Preschool Storytimes for the Fall. This year Julie is trying Tuesdays and
Wednesdays. They are from 10 to 11
a.m. The first sessions on Sept. 25/26
are about showing little ones that “Books Are Fun”! “The Pumpkin Patch” will be for Oct.2/3. By the middle of the month we are getting
closer to Halloween, so Oct. 16/17 will be about “Fuzzy, Funny, and Adorable
Monsters”! The Halloween Party will be
for Oct. 30/31. No sign up is needed,
and parents may run errands or just relax in the library during the
programs.
Ok. I’m
going to mention this…parents of preschoolers, we love having you bring your
youngsters to the storytimes. I would
suggest that you chat with your friends somewhere in the library other than
next to the programs. Little ones have a
very short attention span, and Julie is trying to teach these boys and girls to
watch and listen. Just scoot out to the
entry or maybe upstairs. That way you
are close, but you can have a little private time with your friends.

The Atlantic Public Library has hired a new
director starting Oct. 15! Her name is Meredith
Scherb. I think she will be a great
asset to the library. I will be working
until Nov. 16, so she will have a few weeks with me to begin to learn the “ropes”
here.
