Behind My
Desk…
I’m very excited to tell you about an upcoming
library event. On Wednesday, May 22 from
5:00 to 7:00, the library is hosting a Local Authors Event. This is a chance to meet with local and area
authors to talk about their work and maybe even purchase a book and get it
signed! The authors scheduled to appear
are: John Fleming, Lila Hoogeveen & Shiona Putnam, Roy Marshall, Floyd
Pearce, Kerry Sauser, Kimberlee & Frank Spillers, and Allen Stark. The Friends of the Library are providing
refreshments. Food and books and
writers. What could be better?! I hope to see you there!
The library has seen many little visitors the
past two weeks, as preschool classes from around Atlantic were given the grand
library tour. In addition to the tour, the
preschoolers each got to check out a book.
Hopefully, these eager youngsters will become the next generation of
lifelong library users!
My thanks go out to two of our volunteers,
Dottie Krogh and Karen Hirsch, who have been working on the library’s
landscaping this week. Things are
looking good out there and I greatly appreciate all their hard work!
I think it’s finally warm to stay…or at least
I’ve decided it is because I’ve turned off the boilers for the season! I can’t believe I had to wait until May!
