Behind My
Desk…
The 2013 summer reading program is officially
underway! The Kick-off Carnival was a
huge success with over 300 attendees.
The weather was beautiful and we were able to hold it outdoors as
planned. I was inside serving popcorn
but chatted with a number of excited kids who eagerly shared their favorite
activities! The bouncy house was very
popular. They also had the most amazing
balloon creations. Hats, swords, flowers,
and animals! Thanks to Julie, the
volunteers, and presenters for all their hard work in making the carnival a
success!
As fun as the carnival was, it was just the
beginning! Julie has put together a
wonderful line-up this year. Just in the
next couple of weeks there is a balloon artist, grave witching, archaeology,
and science experiments. So be sure to
check the calendar of events so you don’t miss out on anything.
Since summer began, the activity level at the
library has certainly picked up, which is great. There is a wonderful energy in the building! But to ensure that everyone who comes to the
library has a rewarding and enjoyable experience, appropriate library behavior
is especially important. If you need a
reminder, the library’s behavior policy can be found on our website. But if we can all remember to be respectful
and courteous, it will be a great summer!
