Behind My Desk… A new year and a time to start fresh. That’s what I have been doing lately with our webpage design. I like to see what other libraries are doing and checked out Shenandoah’s website. Oh, I did like the look of it! As is my nature, I was immediately jealous. Out with the old! Bring in the new! I decided to totally revamp the Atlantic Public Library website. Well, as some of you may have found out recently, I made changes, all right. I managed to really mess up the structure of the site. With a little help from some people and my own stubbornness, it has finally come together. I wasn’t sure for a while, though!
Please, please, please note that we have a new online subscription to TumbleBooks! The Friends of the Atlantic Public Library generously donated some money to purchase this service for a year. All you have to do is click on the link to TumbleBooks and enjoy children’s books on line with audio! I think young ones will enjoy this. Give it a try!
Don’t forget about our Adult Winter Reading Program which has started—“Go Anywhere with a Book!” Try playing BINGO by reading books with different settings. If you would like to find some new authors or try a different genre/type of book, this is a fun way to experiment!
Also, the Cass County Library Association of Iowa is sponsoring our first annual (we hope!) family fun night: “Book Some Time Together” on Monday, January 26! Take some time off from the television and computer and do something fun with the family at home. We hope maybe we can start a “tradition” with some families that will be wonderful memories for later. Nothing is written in stone and there are no rules to worry about. If you want to, take some pictures and send us a copy! We would love that! Need some ideas? Stop by any of the Cass County public libraries and pick up some information!
Keep Thinking Libraries!!!
