Did You Know… the Atlantic Public Library still has VHS cassettes to checkout—both upstairs and down? Yes, we do have DVD’s, but some people have perfectly good video players for VHS. We are about the only place in Atlantic with a nice collection to choose from…AND they can be checked out for a week now!

Behind My Desk… First of all, I want to thank those of you who came to the Winds of Freedom concert on Friday at the Library! We had a great group and the music and musicians were terrific! We truly had all ages and that was nice to see, too.

I just submitted the State Library annual report. Yippee!!! I had most of the information already entered, but I was able to attend a workshop last Thursday to learn more about the report. I’m glad I went! I was able to increase a few numbers that I hadn’t thought about. Check that off my “To Do” list!

That list can be truly irritating sometimes, but it is nice to write down my “goals.” Accomplishment is a good feeling…even if you turn around and have to put something back on the list again.

Speaking of the workshop I attended, I do so enjoy my time with other librarians. Those times are good not only for the learning, but for sharing and laughter. It truly is good medicine. Southwest librarians are known for their fun workshops. Learning certainly doesn’t need to be boring, and chocolate helps, too. I also enjoy my monthly breakfasts with the other Cass County librarians. They are a great group and it’s fun to work together on things.

Hey! It’s August already!… and Keep Thinking Libraries!
