Did You
Know…
NoveList is here to help you find your next
book? This is my favorite database when
I don’t know what to read next or if I’m trying to figure out the correct order
for a series I’m reading. The library
subscribes to this database and you can access it right from the library’s
homepage. Check it out!
Behind My
Desk…
It’s hard to believe this is already my fourth
week here in Atlantic as your new library director. Every day is a new learning experience and includes
any number of “firsts”! Including this,
my first Think Library Column. I’ve
never had a column before, so I hope you’ll bear with me as I figure it all
out!
I would first like to take this time to thank
our Friends of the Atlantic Public Library for their hard work organizing the
semi-annual book sale that was held November 2nd and 3rd. From what I understand, they had more books
donated for the event than ever before!
And from the full parking lot and the many people I saw leaving with
sacks full of books, it was a great success!
Thanks again to those who worked and those who purchased books.
I would also like
to send a big thanks to everyone who has welcomed me so warmly to this
community, particularly Carole and the rest of the library staff. You have made the settling in process so much
easier!
Also, be sure to check out the display case in
the main lobby this month. Steve
Livengood has filled the case with memorabilia in honor of Veteran’s Day and it
includes local veteran’s history. The
display will run through the month of November.
And finally, I
just want to say how excited I am to be here.
You have a wonderful library and I look forward to being a part of it.
So…Keep Thinking
Libraries!
