Did You Know… that the Atlantic Public Library has 24/7 free wifi?
Behind My Desk… It’s tax time again. We have some forms, but they are becoming an endangered species. Best way to get the forms you need is online at the IRS (federal) site. http://www.irs.gov/
The Iowa forms are found at http://www.iowa.gov/tax/
I know. It’s hard when you don’t have a computer nor know how to use one. The library does have public access computers, but the staff does not have tax filing expertise.
The library website will continue to have the link for the Career Library database for 2010. This site has some great information at your fingertips and you can access this from your home computer! You just need to request the username and password from the upstairs checkout desk.
Is someone in your family looking at taking the SAT or ACT examinations soon? There are practice tests available at this site as well as great information for financial aid. Maybe one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get your GED. See how well you would do by taking the practice exam!
We also are continuing to subscribe to the Tumblebooks website. I really recommend this for children of all ages!
I’ve worked long and hard to make the library website a great resource for our community. If you have Internet access at home, I encourage to you to add www.atlantic.lib.ia.us to your favorites or bookmarks. You will find all sorts of handy information right at your fingertips!
Remember to Celebrate Family Fun Night January 18th …and Keep Thinking Libraries!
