Did You Know… that some of our past magazines are now located in the same areas where we have books by the same topic such as scrapbooking, quilting, cooking, and gardening? Some of our non-fiction videos are also located with books with the same subject.
Behind My Desk… What a week! National Library Week at the Atlantic Public Library was different this year! We had a terrific turn out for the Dome Theater on Monday. The upstairs certainly looked different with an inflated giant blue igloo in the middle of everything! We had to make last minute adjustments, but it worked out fine.
I want to extend a special thank you to all the Friends who have or will have worked on the Book Sale. I do appreciate your willingness to volunteer for this project.
In case there are some patrons who are not able to download ebooks and audiobooks from WILBOR, I want to clarify something we have learned. Only Atlantic residents and Cass County Residents are allowed to use WILBOR from the Atlantic Public Library website or catalog. The reason is because of copyright restrictions and a contractual agreement with the vendor about who can legally use the service. Open Access patrons (patrons whose residence is in another county or in an incorporated town in Cass County) need to use their “home” library for WILBOR services.
Finally, yes, it’s true. I will be retiring at the end of 2012. I’m looking forward to a different life, but I do plan on staying in Atlantic for at least a little while.
Time to start cleaning my office again…Keep Thinking Libraries!
